Mercenaries & Mountebanks

Mercenaries & Mountebanks is a fast, simple, and easy-to-run table-top adventure game.

Built on Caltrop Core, challenge resolution is simple - just roll a pool of d4s and take the highest result!

Building a character is quick and easy: allot a few points among three Abilities, pick a few skill Focuses, buy some Equipment, and done! With no hard list of skills or equipment, players are free to define their characters however they like. And with no class system, players are free to make any kind of character they want, and develop them in whatever direction they desire.

Combat is easy. All rolls are player-facing, so the GM is free to focus on the story. All opponents are a simple damage track, so the same system can be used to resolve either physical or social conflict.
